Ken Rosenthal of FOX Sports reported Monday Angel Pagan and the San Francisco Giants were close to a deal and then Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com confirmed the report that both parties agreed to a four-year deal worth $40 million.
Bringing back Pagan was one of the Giants top priorities this offseason looking to solidify their leadoff and center field position for years to come. The 31-year-old was instrumental in the Giants championship run in 2012 and along with second baseman Marco Scutaro were the anchors of the lineup setting the stage for the heart of the batting order.
The Giants acquired Pagan last December from the New York Mets in exchange for Andres Torres and Ramon Ramirez.
