San Francisco Giants Sign Chad Gaudin to a Minor League Contract

Janie McCauley of the Associated Press is reporting the San Francisco Giants have signed right-handed pitcher Chad Gaudin to a minor league contract.

The deal includes an invite to spring training for the 29-year-old who will turn 30 next March. Gaudin spent the 2012 season with the Miami Marlins going 4-2 producing a 4.54 ERA in 46 games allowing 72 hits, 35 earned runs, six homers and 57 strikeouts with the opposition batting .274 off him in 69.1 innings. Gaudin has played with eight teams and if he makes the Giants next spring will join his ninth ball club. He made his Major League debut back on August 1, 2003 with the Tampa Bay Rays.
